Oyo Global Forum (OGF) has felicitated with the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111 on the 50th anniversary of his ascension to the throne.
OGF, in a statement on Thursday evening, signed by its National chairman, Olorunpoto Rahman, described the Alaafin as a man whose contributions to the Yoruba race is numerous.
He noted that for 50 years, Alaafin’s reign has brought tremendous growth to entire Yoruba land.
The statement read: “Oyo Global Forum, on behalf of the good people of Afijio, Atiba, Oyo East, and Oyo West LGAs, heartily felicitate with His Imperial Majesty and Permanent Chairman of the Council of Obas and Chiefs in Oyo State, Oba (Dr) Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, the Iku Baba Yeye, Alaafin of Oyo on the glorious celebration of his 50th coronation anniversary.
“We believe the fifty years of Your Majesty as the Alaafin of Oyo has brought immense success not only to the people of Oyo and its environs but to the entire Yoruba race both within and outside the shores of Nigeria. Your contributions to the advancement of the rich cultures of the Yoruba people and the black nations are too numerous to mention.
“It is our prayers that Kabiesi live long and your reign bring more peace, sustainable development, and blessings to our people.”
