A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC from Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East federal constituency, Hon. Oluwaseun Olateju has congratulated His Excellency, Senator Bola Tinubu on his well-deserved victorious emergence from the keenly contested, transparently conducted, effectively coordinated and successfully concluded 2022 presidential primary election of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
In a statement by his Media and Publicity Team, Hon. Olateju maintained that the choice of Jagaban of Borgu Kingdom bears testimony to the fact that APC is a party that upholds and sustains ideals of loyalty, competence and rewards contributions as well as sacrifices towards building the ruling party, while also lending credence to Asiwaju’s wide acceptability.
He affirmed that Senator Bola Tinubu’s nationwide recognition, extensive reach, good political structure, strong support base, numerous endorsements, mass appeal, track record of giant strides as the governor of the most cosmopolitan state in Nigeria, rich experience in both private and public sectors qualify the Jagaban of Borgu kingdom as the president that Nigeria needs.
While commending other presidential aspirants for being heroes of democracy, Olateju noted that their display of sportsmanship and loyalty to the APC are worthy of emulation to political aspirants, as ambition should be an offer for service to Nigerians and not a do or die affair.
The APC chieftain appealed to all aggrieved members, especially in Oyo state to desist from any action that could affect the electoral fortune of the party in 2023, but rather should bury their hatchets and work for victory, adding that the joy of winning elections collectively far outweighs the agony of loss to the opposition parties.
According to him, ” it is the collective responsibility of all progressive family to join hands with the incoming president, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Oyo state for Senator Teslim Folarin, our three senatorial aspirants, house of representatives and house of assembly aspirants to reinstate the pace setter status of our dear state”.
The APC chieftain equally called on party faithful not to pitch their tents with other parties, expressing optimism that the well established internal wranglings resolution mechanism within the party would address their concerns.
Olateju also appealed to the party leadership to hasten the process of reconciliation due to fall out of the primaries, with a view to pacifying aggrieved aspirants.
