Asked why he left the APC for his new party, Awoleye who had a brief stint with the African Democratic Congress, ADC, noted that Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s highhandedness robbed the party of its weight and formidability.

According to Awoleye, who represented Ibadan North 2 state constituency between 2007 and 2011 on the platform of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, added “Ajimobi’s disregard for free and fair primary elections dismantled the house from within.”

Awoleye said he is seeking to represent his people again because “it is the wish of my constituents that I continue to represent them.”

He added that in many town hall meetings he has held with members of his constituency, they have consistently been demanding for the continuity of his quality representation of Ibadan North.
