Onifade of Onifalade village in Surulere local government area of Oyo State, Baale John Adeshina, who was on Saturday kidnapped by gunmen, has regained freedom.
The release of Baale Adeshina, who ascended the throne on October 11, 2018, came barely 12 hours after he was abducted in his house.
Speaking to journalists about the incident, ”At about 8 p.m, some people dressed in Army uniform came into my house and forcefully took me away, they said ransom has been paid for my life.
”They cut part of my agbada to cover my face and took me into the bush and we embarked on a journey into an unknown destination.
”This morning, they left me and ask me to go, I found myself in a community in Oriire local government,” National Insight newspaper quoted him as saying.
Asked if he can identify any of his abductors, the monarch said “I cannot identify any of them, they came in the night, they were led by a fulani and those who took me away were in Army uniform.”
The monarch commended the effort of Officers of Nigeria Police, SARS and others who swung into action immediately the news of his kidnapped reached them.
